English (Years 7-10)
VCE English (Unit 1-4)
Suzanne has taught secondary English for almost 20 years. She has taught Years 7 to 12 and held a variety of leadership positions. Since moving to Australia 5 years ago, she has taught Years 9 to 11 at a leading independent Melbourne school. Suzanne’s teaching style is energetic and entertaining. She takes a methodical and formulaic approach to content and outcomes. She uses explicit structures, reflective questioning and modelling to craft outcomes.
Suzanne’s educational passion is to help students make meaning for themselves, deepening their understanding and thus their skill level in English. She believes that learning optimum skills in English is an absolute key to life so that young people can interpret the world around them and articulate themselves. Therefore, she ensures that students understand how the subject matter is related to the real world.
All tutoring sessions are customised to suit the learner’s needs. She can provide homework support, deepen understanding of class content, assist with the structuring and development of coursework/exam preparation and provide enrichment discussion and guidance through suggested further resources.
Suzanne’s personal interests include: supporting and volunteering for the charity she founded to help educate Cambodian children, collecting and reading extensive amounts of literature, writing her first novel, learning to play the keyboard, keeping fit through Pilates and being by the ocean.
If Suzanne doesn't have availability for a time that is suitable for your learner please contact us to express your interest (including the desired day and time) and we will try to accommodate your request or put your name on a waitlist.
