Why do you offer exclusively online tutoring?
We learnt through COVID-19 that online tutoring works really well when the tutor has the right equipment (all our tutors do). In fact, we think it's better than face-to-face.
Can you make an exception and organise face-to-face tutoring?
Unfortuantely, no. We pride ourselves on offering outstanding online tutoring and we stand by the quality of our service. We understand you may be concerned, or maybe you've had a negative experience with online learning, but we encourage you to try a session with Bespoke Learning Australia to really experience how amazing online tutoring can be. You're also welcome to send us an email with your concerns, a member of our team would be happy to chat with you.
What equipment does my learner need?
Your learner will require access to a device - like a tablet (i.e. iPad), laptop or computer. It is helpful, particularly for secondary students, if they're able to access their school learning materials online.
What does a typical tutoring session look like?
Once a learner has logged onto Zoom, the tutor will generally engage the learner in a brief conversation about what they're doing at school and how they've felt about the work. General conversation is important so that the learner and educator can build rapport with each other. A positive rapport leads to better educational outcomes. It also helps the tutor understand where the learner is at with the topic they're currently learning and will highlight any areas of concern.
How do I book?
Bookings are made via the Bespoke Learning Australia website by clicking the 'Bookings' button at the top right. This button will redirect you to our Schedulista platform where you can make a new booking or manage an existing booking.
How do I pay?
When you book a tutoring session through our booking platform, your credit card details will be collected. These are securely stored through Stripe and Bespoke Learning Australia will not have access to the provided details. Payment will be automatically taken the day before your learner's tutoring session, or immediately in the event of booking an initial consultation. You generally only need to provide your payment details once, these will then be stored for all future bookings.
Am I able to reschedule or cancel?
You're able to reschedule or cancel a booking up to 48-hours prior to the session without penalty. Please read our cancellation policy (found on the 'Fees & Payments' page) carefully for full details. If you have any questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How long are the tutoring sessions?
Tutoring sessions at Bespoke Learning Australia range from 30-minutes to 1-hour in duration. This is dependent on the learner's age, with students in year 7 & 8 having the option to choose between 45-minutes and 60-minutes based on their needs.
How do I select the right tutor for my learner?
Bespoke Learning Australia encourages you to book an initial consultation with your desired educator, or educators. Please talk to the educator about your learner's needs and goals, get to know each other and see if it seems like a 'good fit'.
